About AshACE® Revise7

What is AshACE® Revise?

AshACE® Revise is an online revision service for Year 6 to Year 11. You buy an annual subscription for each child. Your child then logs in to get:

  • clear notes, topic by topic, read on screen,
  • practice questions with full worked answers,
  • revision cards,
  • end-of-topic tests with instant automatic marking,
  • a weekly revision plan.

As a parent, you have your own account where you can follow your child's progress.

Who writes the notes and questions?

Our notes, questions and tests are written by Ash, an experienced KS3 and GCSE Maths and Science tutor, based on years of teaching real students. They are written in plain English, with worked examples, common mistakes and exam tips. They are not copied from textbooks or other websites.

Which school years is it for?

Year 6 to Year 11.

  • Years 6, 7, 8 and 9 see Key Stage 3 (KS3) content.
  • Years 10 and 11 see GCSE content for the exam boards they choose.

We plan to add A level later.

Which subjects are included?

Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. GCSE students can take Combined Science or the three separate sciences (Triple Science). We plan to add more subjects over time and will tell subscribers first.

Which exam boards do you cover?

For GCSE, your child chooses one exam board per subject: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC/Eduqas or Cambridge IGCSE. After that, they only see what is on their own course.

We add content board by board, so some boards will have more material than others at first. Before you buy, check the subject pages or ask us about your child's board.

Is all the content ready now?

We are open about this: we publish new notes, questions and tests every month. KS3 Science and GCSE Science (starting with AQA) come first, then Maths and the other boards. Subscribers get every new topic as soon as it is added, at no extra cost.

How is this different from free revision websites?
  • One clear path from Year 6 to GCSE, linked to your child's school year and exam board.
  • Full worked answers, not just short mark schemes.
  • No adverts and no distractions.
  • Tests, a weekly plan and a parent dashboard in one place, so you can see what is working.
  • Written in a real tutor's voice by someone who teaches these topics every week.

What your child gets11

What exactly is included in the subscription?

For each topic, your child can:

  • Learn – read clear notes with diagrams and worked examples.
  • Practise – answer exam-style questions and check full worked answers.
  • Remember – use revision cards for key facts, words and equations.
  • Test – take an end-of-topic test that is marked straight away.

They also get a weekly plan, a personal dashboard, the Ask AshACE helper and instant feedback on homework photos (within a monthly allowance).

Does it follow what my child learns at school?

Yes. KS3 content follows the national curriculum for Years 7 to 9. GCSE content follows the specification of the exam board your child chooses. Your child can pick the topic they are doing in class, or follow the weekly plan.

Does it cover Foundation and Higher tier?

Yes. For GCSE Maths and Science, content is tagged Foundation or Higher. Your child sets their tier in their profile, and can change it if their teacher moves them.

Do you provide past papers?

Official past papers belong to the exam boards, so we link to them on the exam boards' own websites rather than copying them. We also write our own AshACE practice papers in exam style, with full worked answers, which your child can use inside the site.

How are the tests marked?

Most questions are marked instantly and automatically. For longer written answers, your child sees the mark scheme and a model answer so they can check their own work. After each test they get their score and a short "revise next" list of topics to go back to.

What is "Ask AshACE"?

Ask AshACE is a study helper inside the site. Your child can ask it about a topic they are stuck on. It gives hints first, so your child still does the thinking, and only talks about school subjects. It will not simply do homework for them.

Each child has a monthly allowance of questions, and you can see how it is being used from your parent account.

How does the homework check work?

Your child can take a photo of their written work (for example, a Maths question) and get instant feedback on what is right and where marks were lost. Each child has a monthly allowance of photo checks.

Photos are deleted after 90 days, and you can turn this feature off in your parent account at any time.

Can my child print or download the notes?

Notes are made to be read on screen. This keeps them up to date and protects our work. Your child's name is shown on the pages they view. You can still make handwritten notes or revision cards from them, which is a great way to revise.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. AshACE Revise works in the web browser on computers, laptops, tablets and phones. There is no app to install. For long study sessions, a laptop or tablet is easier to read.

How much should my child use it each week?

Little and often works best. We suggest three or four sessions of 20 to 30 minutes a week in KS3, rising to most days in Year 11 and before mocks. The weekly plan suggests what to do in each session.

My child has special educational needs. Will it suit them?

Our notes use short sentences, clear headings and plenty of examples, which helps many learners. Your child can work at their own pace and repeat topics as often as they like. You are welcome to email us before you buy to talk about your child's needs.

Accounts, children and devices11

How do I sign up?
  1. Create a parent account with your name, home address, email and mobile number.
  2. Confirm your email and mobile with the codes we send you.
  3. Add each child: their first name and school year, and set up their own login.
  4. Pay for each child's place.
  5. GCSE students choose their subjects and exam boards the first time they log in.
Why do you ask for my address and mobile number?

We use them to set up your family account, to send security codes, and to keep each subscription to one household. We do not share them with anyone for marketing.

Can my child sign up on their own?

No. Only a parent or carer can create an account and add children. This means you stay in control, and it is how we get parental consent for children under 13, as UK law requires.

How many children can I add?

Up to four children on one parent account. Each child has their own login and their own paid place. If you have more than four children, please contact us.

Can brothers and sisters share one login?

No. Each child needs their own login. This keeps each child's tests, progress and weekly plan accurate, and it is part of our terms.

How many devices can my child use?

Each child can use up to two devices (for example, a laptop and a phone), and can be logged in on one device at a time. When your child logs in on a new device, we send a code to your phone to approve it. You can reset devices from your parent account.

Can my child use it away from home, such as at a grandparent's house or on holiday?

Yes. Your child can log in anywhere on their approved devices. To keep each subscription to one household, your child needs to log in from your home internet at least once a month.

What happens when my child moves up a year?

It happens automatically every September. Your child's content moves up with them. When a child moves from Year 9 to Year 10, they switch from KS3 to GCSE, and we email you so they can choose their subjects and exam boards.

I entered the wrong school year. How do I fix it?

School years are locked after set-up, so that content always matches the right year. Just email us and we will correct it for you.

Can my child change their exam board or tier?

Yes. GCSE students can change their subjects, exam boards and tier in their profile, for example if the school changes course. Their progress on topics that are shared between boards is kept.

My child forgot their password. What do I do?

Your child can use the "Forgot password" link on the login page. You can also reset your child's password from your parent account.

Progress and reports for parents4

What can I see in my parent account?

For each child you can see:

  • time spent and sessions this week,
  • topics completed and test scores,
  • their weekly plan and how much of it is done,
  • strong and weak topics,
  • how much of their helper and homework-check allowance they have used.
Will I get updates by email?

Yes. You get a short weekly progress email every Sunday evening. You can also choose alerts for new test results and for when your child has not logged in for a few days. You can change these settings at any time.

How is the weekly plan made?

The plan is built from your child's school year, subjects and exam board, their recent test results and their weak topics. It tells them what to learn, practise and test each week. It updates as they go.

Can my child's tutor or teacher see their progress?

Not automatically. Your child's work is private to your family. If you would like to share progress with a tutor, please contact us.

Price, payment and renewal10

How much does it cost?

You pay an annual subscription for each child. The current price is shown on the sign-up page before you pay, and it includes VAT. There are no hidden extras: all notes, questions, tests and new content added during the year are included.

Is there a free trial?

You can see our style before you buy: our free study guides are open to everyone, and we show sample notes and questions on the subject pages. Please email us if you have any questions before you subscribe.

How do I pay?

By debit or credit card through Stripe, a secure payment company used by many large websites. We never see or store your full card details.

How long does the subscription last?

12 months from the day you pay for each child.

Does it renew automatically?

Yes, so your child does not lose access in the middle of the school year. We email you 7 days before each renewal date. You can turn off renewal at any time in your parent account.

How do I cancel?

Turn off renewal in Plan and billing in your parent account. Your child keeps full access until the end of the year you have already paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Please read our Terms, which set out your rights, including your right to cancel. If something is not right, email us as soon as possible and we will do our best to help.

Can I add another child later in the year?

Yes. Add the child in your parent account and pay for their place. The price is shown before you pay, and their 12 months start from that day.

Will I get a receipt?

Yes. A receipt is emailed to you after each payment, and you can find past payments in your parent account.

Do you offer school or tutor licences?

Not yet, but we plan to. If you are a school or tutor and are interested, please get in touch.

Safety and privacy6

What information do you keep about my child?

As little as possible: their first name, school year, subjects and exam boards, and their activity and test results on the site. We do not ask children for their email address, photos of themselves or any public profile.

Is my child's data safe?

We follow UK GDPR and the ICO Children's Code. Data is stored on secure servers in the UK (London). We do not sell data and we do not show adverts. You can download or delete your family's data from your parent account.

Can my child talk to other students on the site?

No. There is no chat, no messaging between students and no public profiles. Your child only sees their own work.

Is Ask AshACE safe for children?

It only talks about school subjects, gives hints rather than full answers, and has a monthly limit. You can see how your child uses it from your parent account.

Will you email my child?

No. We only email the parent. Newsletters and news about new features are sent only if you ticked the box to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Why is my child's name shown on the notes?

It shows the notes belong to your child's account and discourages copying or sharing. It is only visible to your child when they are logged in.
